Lake Powell Goo

Crunchy, gooey and sweet, this Lake Powell Goo is a family classic. There is so much to love about this tasty treat!


Full disclosure--this is not a healthified recipe. This is the original family recipe with full fat and full sugar content. But man is it a perfect snack while playing hard and boating on the lake all day!

Super simple and easy to throw together. Rice Chex, coconut, almonds and a corn syrup/butter/sugar goo for on top. Maybe don't look at the nutrition facts label on this one and just enjoy it!


 

Lake Powell Goo


Ingredients

· 18 oz box Chex rice cereal

· 1 ½ cups sliced almonds

· 1 ½ cups shredded coconut

· 1 cup butter

· 1 ½ cups corn syrup

· 1 ½ cups sugar

· 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

1. Combine Chex rice cereal, sliced almonds, and shredded coconut in a large bowl. Toss to mix well.

2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the corn syrup and sugar. Bring to a boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla.

3. Pour over the Chex cereal mixture and stir gently to coat evenly. Allow to cool and serve.
